Skills in Demand (SC 482) Visa Document Checklist

The Skills in Demand (SID) (Subclass 482) visa is a temporary visa for skilled workers sponsored by an Australian employer. The visa allows eligible employees to live and work in Australia for up to 4 years when there is no suitable Australian worker available for the position. This visa offers a pathway for skilled professionals to settle in Australia. The SID (SC 482) Visa consists of 3 application streams: 

  • Core Skills Stream 

  • Specialist Skills Stream 

  • Labour Agreement Stream 

 

SID (SC 482) Sponsorship Document Checklist 

Employers are responsible to apply for a Standard Business Sponsorship (SBS) to allow them to sponsor any overseas worker for 5 years. Key documents are as follows and not limited to: 

  • Company registration 

    • Australian Business Number (ABN) certificate 

    • Registration of certificate for Australian Registered Body Number (ARBN) from Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) 

  • Financial Documents 

    • Tax Returns 

    • Recent Business Activity Statement Recent Bank Statement Profit and Loss Statement Annual Report 

  • Other documents 

    • Contract to provide goods or services 

    • Evidence of staff 

    • Evidence to set up a business operation in Australia (if relevant) 

 

SID (SC 482) Nomination Document Checklist 

Employers have to provide supporting documents for their nomination. These documents may include and not limited to:  

  • Evidence for genuine position 

    • Organisational chart 

    • Position description 

    • Employment contracts from past workers 

  • Occupation requirements 

  • Financial capacity to fill the role 

    • Financial reports 

    • Business Activity Statements (BAS) 

  • Labour Market Testing 

SID (SC 482) Visa Application Document Checklist 

Applicants must meet the visa criteria by gathering and preparing the documents listed below and not limited to: 

  • Identity documents 

    • Passport 

    • National identity card 

  • Employment Documents  

    • CV/Resume 

    • Positive Skills Assessment (For Direct Entry Stream) 

    • Employment contract 

  • Qualifications and Education 

  • Health and Character

Can I add My Family Members to My Visa Application? 

The Skills in Demand (SID) (SC 482) Visa allows applicants to include eligible family members as secondary applicants or dependents, such as: 

Documents for secondary applicants may include birth certificate(s), a marriage certificate, education documents and more.
