Are There Any Travel Limitations To Bridging Visa Holders?
A bridging visa allows applicants to remain lawfully in Australia while their visa application is pending a decision. This visa serves a great purpose; however, it comes with certain limitations, especially for those who want to travel.

What Are the Travel Limitations for Each Bridging Visa?
Bridging Visa A (BVA) (Subclass 010)
A BVA does not allow you to travel outside of Australia. If you leave the country whilst holding a BVA, your bridging visa will cease, and you may not be able to enter Australia.
Before you travel, ensure you apply and be granted a Bridging Visa B (BVB) (Subclass 020) before departure.
Bridging Visa B (BVB) (Subclass 020)
A BVB allows for short-term travel overseas and ensures your legal status when returning to Australia. The visa specifies travel dates, so you have to return to Australia within the approved timeframe.
Bridging Visa C (BVC) (Subclass 030)
A BVC typically does not allow the visa holder to travel. If you leave Australia while holding a BVC, it will cease immediately and you may be subject to a PIC 4014 which is known as a re-entry ban.
Bridging Visa E (BVE) (Subclass 050)
A BVE holder will not be allowed to re-enter Australia once they leave the country. If you do leave Australia, your BVE will be terminated upon your departure, and you may have a re-entry ban for up to 3 years.
How Does it Impact My Visa Application if I Leave Australia Without a BVB?
Leaving Australia without the appropriate travel permissions could put your pending visa application at risk, which may result in a visa refusal or the end of your Australian stay. Make sure to consult an immigration lawyer to ensure you meet all the conditions so you will be able to return to Australia lawfully without affecting your migration plan.
