Delayed Opening of All State Nominations for General Skilled Migration
Generally, the state nomination positions re-open shortly after the start of the new financial year.
For the current financial year (2020-2021), the state and territory nomination program for General Skilled Migration Visas (Subclass 190 & Subclass 491) will remain temporarily closed until the Commonwealth government allocates new places. This delay is due to coronavirus and the delayed announcement of the federal budget for 2021-2021. It is scheduled to be handed down in Parliament in 6 October. Thereafter, the program will re-open.
Even if the state or territory is still on an “Open Status” this means you can still apply but no nominations/invitations will be issued until the new quota is handed down.
