When Do I Add My Family Members To My Skills In Demand (SID) (SC482) Visa?

Figuring out the timeline and when to migrate you and your family to Australia is a big decision and requires a lot of planning and coordinating. Here are the basic guidelines for you to plan when to apply for your Skills in Demand (SID) (Subclass 482) visa application.

When can I add my Family Members to my Skills in Demand (SID) (SC482) Visa?

Depending on your objective, you can add your member of the family unit (MoFU) in 2 stages of the SID (SC 482) Visa process.

How much is the cost to add dependents to a Skills in Demand (SC 482) Visa?

The visa application charges (VAC) to apply for a Skills in Demand Visa (Subclass 482) as a dependent or when applying for a SID (SC482) visa - subsequent entrants are the same.

  • The visa application charge for each dependent for 18 years and above is AUD 3,115

  • For each dependent applicant under 18 years and under, the visa application charge is AUD 780

For Offshore SID 482 Visa, Is There a Timeline for My Family to Enter Australia Upon Visa Grant?

Yes, once your SID (SC 482) visa is granted, the applicant must enter Australia by the first entry date listed on your grant letter. Otherwise, your visa may be subject to cancellation.

Who can be included in the SID (SC482) visa?

The Department only allows the MoFU to be added as secondary applicants. MoFU includes your spouse or partner and your children under the age of 18 or if they are above 18 years old and rely on you financially due to disability. Unfortunately, your parents or siblings are not considered part of your MoFU.
