Work Experience for TSS (SC 482) Visa Reduced to 1 Year Introduced by 23 November 2024
According to the Australian Government Budget 2024-25, one significant change proposed was a reduction in the work experience requirement for a Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) (Subclass 482) visa, which will go into effect in late 2024 (pending passage via Parliament).
This means that by 23 November 2024, TSS (Subclass 482) visa applicants will only be required to demonstrate one (1) year rather than two (2) years of full-time work experience in their relevant occupation or related sector.
On the other hand, if a qualification is not met, further work experience will be necessary to meet the eligibility criteria. Additional factors, such as qualification, skill level, and date of experience, must be considered when determining if work experience is appropriate and how much is required.
Recent changes allow applicants to apply for the TSS Visa without being limited by prior work experience, addressing Australia’s labour shortage.
