Lily Guo
Graduate Associate
Juris Doctor (USYD)
Lily graduated with a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Sydney in 2023. Her journey into immigration law began during her studies when she took a unit focused on this field. She quickly discovered a deep passion for helping individuals navigate the complexities of migration.
Since graduating, she worked at several boutique law firms specializing in immigration law. This has allowed her to hone her attention to detail, a vital skill in immigration law where even the smallest oversight can make a significant difference in a case's outcome. She is particularly drawn to the process of tailoring unique migration pathways for each client, understanding their individual stories, and helping them achieve their desired outcomes. Her work involves managing various visa applications and navigating complex legislation, which she finds both intellectually stimulating and personally fulfilling.
During law school, Lily volunteered at two different legal centres, where she gained hands-on experience assisting vulnerable individuals with legal advice and support. This exposure allowed me to understand the legal system more deeply and reinforced my commitment to advocating for those who need it most.
Lily is fluent in both English and Mandarin, which enables her to build rapport and communicate effectively with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, ensuring they feel understood and supported throughout the legal process. She possesses extensive hands-on experience in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT), also known as Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) reviews, judicial reviews, and a broad range of visa applications, including student visas, family reunification visas, refugee and humanitarian visas, and employer-sponsored visas. Her expertise is backed by a deep understanding of immigration law and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.
Dig Deeper into the Team

She is also a dog lover and have a beloved pet ‘sister’ back in China, who brings joy to her life. These personal interests contribute to her well-being and provide a refreshing balance to the demands of her professional life.
